تقع جامعة طيبة في المدينة المنورة، وكانت نشأتها بصدور الأمر الملكي بالموافقة على قرار مجلس التعليم العالي والقاضي بدمج فرعي جامعتي (الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية وجامعة الملك عبد العزيز) في المدينة المنورة ،وتم تسميه الجامعة بهذا الاسم تيمنًا بأحد الأسماء التي تطلق على المدينة المنورة وهو طيبة. تأسست جامعة طيبة في عام 1424 هـ الموافق لـ 2003 م.

جامعة طيبة جامعة متميزة قادرة على المانافسة مع نظيراتها السعودية والعربية. تعكس الهوية الإسلامية، تستند إلى الماضي وتعايش الحاضر وتستشرف المستقبل استجابة للثوابت والمتغيرات، مؤكدة على أهمية المساواة في فرص التعليم لجميع المواطنين دون تمييز. وتعمل الجامعة على بناء شراكة حقيقية مع المجتمع لتقديم نموذج جديد، ينسجم مع كيفية تنظيم وإدارة تمويل التعليم الجامعي، وتعزيز قدرات هيئة التدريس الأكاديمية والبحثية، وقدرات العاملين والإداريين ونظم المعلومات والتقنية.

وتؤكد الجامعة على أهمية التطوير باستمرار للارتقاء بجودة بيئة مجتمع التعليم لدعم عملية التدريس، والبحث العلمي، وخدمة المجتمع، بالتكامل بين مختلف العلوم والآداب، من خلال برامج دراسية وبحثية متطورة لإعداد مواطن منتج قادر على المنافسة والإبداع. وتسعى الجامعة لاستثمار مواردها البشرية واكتشاف الموهوبين من منسوبيها ورعايتهم لدعم الاقتصاد الوطني، وتطبيق التعليم عن بعد تشجيعاً للتعليم المستمر لمقابلة الطلب المتزايد على التعليم الجامعي، بما يواكب عهد الفضائيات والعولمة وتطورات القرن الواحد والعشرين.

   Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Within the pillars of this newly integrated university where excellence in teaching and learning are prioritized in the strategic plan - it aims to succeed in:

(a) encouraging every student and/or academic staff to seek continuous higher cognitive dexterity - an undertaking which necessitates rewriting the curricula taught at Taibah to match the new vision of a “leading teaching" university;

(b) preparing the young generation for the fast-changing workplace within the country and the world by arming them with the necessary skills and motivations to become lifelong learners;

(c) creating a conducive environment spearheading the process of community development based on coordinated researches to solve the local problems and/or develop local resources.

These are the dimensions of excellence in academics and invaluable life skills that the university seeks to impart and achieve.

As the new Rector, I accept the challenge to lead the process of developing Taibah in transforming lives.

Let us all take a stand in establishing Taibah University as a student-centered institution.

Let us strive to earn the distinctive identity of being a role model for a teaching university, in both local and international scenes.

For it is only by joining hands, can we be strong to put back the true meaning of Taibah.

Although history has taken a different course over the past decades, I firmly believe that the time has come for us to reclaim Taibah’s place in the world map and its status in the history of mankind as the Minaret of Knowledge and wisdom.

This website is committed to serve as an effective window and vital information resource base to the initiatives, opportunities and progress evolving in the university.
